Community workers, volunteers and families will have the opportunity to be trained in facilitating and running support groups for the loved ones of drug users. AAIC will help empower them to deal with ICE and other drugs in their family, and teach them how to encourage their loved ones to seek help.
AAIC has developed a strategic alliance and partnership with ‘Optimal Health Group’, that provides an intense 2-day Dual Diagnosis Training (Alcohol, Other Drugs & Mental Health) workshop. This will help to equip workers in the local community to deliver a brief and early intervention program to people who are addicted to drugs. It is two days of intensive training, covering all of the current evidence-based, best practice in the Alcohol & Other Drugs (AOD) and mental health industry from a holistic framework.
The Dual Diagnosis Consultant delivering the training has 22 years of clinical experience and 14 years as an educator to Government and Non-Government organisations in Australia, as well as being an ex-addict for over 7 years.
