The Australian Anti Ice Campaign (AAIC) was formed by Andre’a Simmons in order to raise awareness and educate the public as to the incredible dangers of the drug Ice, or Crystal Methamphetamine. The core message is “Not Even Once”. The core objective is “Putting the Freeze on Ice”.
The public awareness component of the AAIC Community Ice Action Strategy comprises of elements adopted (and modified) from the Meth Project mass media campaign.
While the AAIC Community Forums also assist with public awareness and community outreach on the night, the primary goals of the forums are:
As with the advertising campaign, the AAIC education workshop has been adopted (and modified) from the Meth Project In-School Education Workshop program. Unlike the Meth Project workshops, which were delivered to the students by their school teachers, the AAIC Education Workshops are delivered by people who have successfully rehabilitated from Ice addiction.
The AAIC has entered into a strategic partnership with Optimal Health Group to provide an online platform for the delivery of Substance Abuse and Mental Health Intervention training to AAIC Ambassadors in Schools, Clubs and Workplaces.
