CEO's 2024 AAIC Report

The year 2024 has been one of the most challenging in AAIC's history. Despite our best efforts, recent wastewater reports continue to reveal a heartbreaking reality, Australians are among the highest per capita users of ICE in the world.

This stark fact lays bare the ongoing and ever-growing crisis that continues to grip our communities. As these troubling statistics persist, we find ourselves more determined than ever to confront this epidemic head-on and provide the education and support that is desperately needed.

The Good News amidst the Crisis.

Amid these overwhelming challenges, there is also hope. At Youth Detention Centres, we’ve witnessed something truly inspiring: more and more young people are choosing to engage with our programs.

In our ongoing commitment to reach as many Australians as possible, AAIC has developed an innovative video-based eBook designed to deliver our critical message to communities across the nation—particularly those in regional and remote areas.

Op Shop- Cosy Closet

Our Op Shop at 130 Scarborough Street, Southport continues to be a lifeline for our operations. Our dedicated team of volunteers works tirelessly to ensure the shop runs smoothly, offering affordable goods to the community while also raising much-needed funds to sustain our programs.

This year, we’ve seen a heart-warming expansion of our Pathways to Recovery Program as several churches across South East Queensland have stepped up to provide education, training, and support to their congregations—and, importantly, to their broader communities.
